PRESIDENT/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Sport-ified was founded in 2022 by Nkiru Agu who wanted to see kids come together, connect and form relationships through sports.
Through her high school years, she took an active role in track inter-house sports competitions whether it be in the band, the committees or the sports itself, she was always front and center. She worked tirelessly to inculcate the spirit of healthy compeitition among students and encouraged her friends to participate in multiple sports across board.
She founded Sport-ified because she wanted to recreate the experiences she had as a child in Nigeria, for the kids here in the US and invite the community to celebrate and elevate the African culture. Nkiru continues to dedicate significant time, energy and resources to further push this mission through, in her bid to give back to the community.
As a volunteer, Nkiru serves on the Parents Association Board of the Fay School, as Vice President, Community Engagement where she is responsible for keeping the school community engaged through the schools’ programs . She also volunteers her time to her church as well as multiple healthcare organizations. When she is not working as a healthcare specialist, she enjoys spending time with her children, reading, listening to podcasts and watching documentaries.
“When you experience a different culture through educational and cultural exchange, you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and those around you ; deepening your knowledge of foreign cultures and strengthening relationships”
